Welcome Visitors

Welcome to my personal blog. I have another blog, Herbert's Place, but that one limits me to what I sometimes want to publish, because it is mainly used to promote my books. As it says in the header, I want to use this blog to write about things that have nothing to do with my books. There is no real theme here. I'll be writing about anything that causes me to either be happy or somethings that concerns me. It could be political, travel, a hobby, or anything else. So come and visit me sometimes.

They are dead. The #Terrorists are dead in Paris

A massive manhunt has come to an end and the three terrorists are dead, but so are four of their hostages. The third guy who fatally shot a police woman has been out of jail for just a month. It just shows you that putting these sick criminals in jail for rehabilitation does nothing. Their minds have been warped by the propaganda of their religion with false promises of a better life after they commit coldblooded murder and die as martyrs. People like that can never be convinced that what they believe is wrong.

Nobody knows what happens to us when we die. All the information comes from what the so-called holy books tell us, books written by smart people--a long time ago. Most people are afraid of death. People are gullible, especially when it comes to religion. The church has used this as a weapon to control its followers and make them pliable to do the bidding of the church leaders. It is a form of mind control.

Of course, most normal people with strong and logical minds will never commit atrocious acts, like murder, or stupid acts like strapping bombs around their bodies and blowing themselves up for a vague and uncertain promise. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of stupid, naive people who believe everything they are told and no shortage of  sick psychopaths. That's what we are dealing with here. All terrorists have twisted minds; sadly some of them truly believe in their cause, not realizing that by killing themselves or dying as martyrs they accomplish nothing but only create more hatred and negative feelings toward the religious group they belong to. Violence breeds violence. If you live by the sword you shall die by the sword. Only love and tolerance toward those who believe something different or are of a different faith will bring about a better world.

However, until that happens we have no choice but to fight fire with fire, violence with violence. That is the sad truth we must face. There are evil forces out there who are bent on creating chaos and they are succeeding. Slowly our freedom of traveling this world of ours, of speaking our minds, of poking fun at each other is being eroded by narrow minds, but we can't give up. We must not give up.
